“Do not
glorify war they testify to the glory of the
human spirit and commitment to life, liberty
and the pursuit of happiness for all.”
They teach us about the ideas that unite us
in our diversity, the values that sustain us
in times of trial, the dreams that inspire
generation after generation of ordinary
Americans to perform extraordinary acts of
service and embrace citizenships highest
responsibility – Military Service.
Express eternal honor and respect for the
men and women who have and continue to
sacrifice and give their last full measure
of devotion to our families, friends, our
Country’s Freedom and Freedom throughout the
world.
A tribute of profound simplicity and a
timeless salute to Arizona’s fallen
comrades. The Memorial calmly awakening the
emotions of patriotism, honor, respect and
quiet reflection of those who paid the
ultimate price to protect our family,
friends and our nation's freedom.
The saluting soldier symbolizes the men and
women who have and continue to stand tall
and unrelenting in defense of our nation's
security and freedom. The field cross
symbolizes a fallen comrade on the
battlefield. The rifle with the bayonet
stuck in the ground signifies the soldier
will never fight again and has given their
last measure of devotion in the fight
against terrorism since 9-11-01. The rifle
without the magazine represents the fight is
finished. The dog tags, helmet and boots
implies the comrade paid the ultimate
price. The pedestal is made of black
granite etched with the names of fallen
comrades, military service branch insignias
and mottos. |

The people of Arizona are eternally grateful
for the service and sacrifice of their
servicemen and women in support of our
country; and it is a fitting and appropriate
to remember all Arizonans who served in this
conflict, and in particular those who died
or were injured, with permanent memorials in
their honor
